Objectives

  • To construct a Pulse Amplitude Modulation generator and to observe the characteristics of both single and dual-polarity Pulse Amplitude Modulation.
  • To construct a clock generator using an IC555 - timer as a sampling clock.
  • To observe its output that controls a CMOS sampling switch.
  • To identify the dual-polarity PAM output wave and to adjust the depth and frequency of modulation.
  • To obtain a single-polarity PAM from this circuit by adding a DC reference level to the input sine wave.
  • To observe the demodulated waveform using detector.
