BALANCED MODULATOR
Objectives
- To construct a balanced modulator and study its operation.
- To observe that the output is a double sideband with a suppressed-carrier signal.
- To adjust it for optimum carrier suppression.
- To verify that the input audio-level directly affects the double side-band output amplitude.
- To observe that the output is minimum with zero audio input.
- To measure the carrier output and the peak side-band output and to calculate the carrier suppression.
